1. ART REQUIREMENTS Digital vector art file preferred for all processes. Adobe Illustrator CS4 and lower eps or ai files with all fonts outlined and external graphics embedded. Black & white camera ready line art can be used for die struck and etched products only. Art charges may apply for complex designs. We accept files compatible with most graphics programs including Photoshop and Illustrator. However, art charges may apply with some file formats. We can duplicate your existing sample with no artwork (this option takes slightly longer to complete production). If your artwork is not camera ready, artwork may be prepared at a specified rate.
2. COLORS There are a finite number of authentic cloisonné colors available. For authentic cloisonné projects we will try our best to closely match your color specifications. For all other spot color projects Pantone color matching is available at additional cost. Translucent and glow enamel colors are also available at additional cost. For offset printed projects a hard copy match proof is required.
3. TECHNIQUES There are a finite number techniques available. Authentic cloisonné is the traditional method of producing lapel pins. The base material is die struck copper. All colors are created using a finely ground glass which is placed onto the base by hand and oven baked at hightemperatures to obtain a smooth surface. Cloisonné pins are inherently scratch resistant and do not require an epoxy dome for protection. Glass color selection is limited to about 150 colors. more
4. PLATINGS
There are a finite number of authentic cloisonné colors available. For authentic cloisonné projects we will try our best to closely match your color specifications.
